One Step at a Time

It's back to work today and I wish it wasn't, in fact I think I need a few months off to just sit down and hope my back gets better. I had a weekend of ups and downs with it and this morning is a very low point. I'm back to having seemingly easy tasks become monumental feats.....putting socks on, getting into and out of the shower, getting out of bed. Hopefully something changes quickly....this messes my routine up big time. If I could give myself a cortisone shot...now would be a good time for it. Well I'm off to face the day. Enjoy your Monday everyone.

Thanksgiving

Tomorrow I get to come home. 4 days off. Friends, Family, Food. I'll be on the couch. Very Thankful.

Mmm Eggs

Michigan is going to lose, What rhymes with wolverine?...loser, Have you come to your senses yet?, you're delusional........These are some of the comments I've been receiving at my place of employment this past week. One guy also brought a photo to me and said he found my class picture....it was a bunch of elementary school kids in a group photo with one lone boy sitting by himself on the far end of a bench with a Michigan sweatshirt on. I have found myself behind enemy lines here in Sandusky but I make no effort in hiding the fact I'm rooting for Michigan. I'm hoping they pull out a win just so I can sit at my desk with a big smile on my face as the guys who gave me crap walk on past on Monday morning.

What's next? Oh! You know when you do something and then after the fact you look back on it and say "Wow that was pretty sad, what is my life coming to?" I had one of those moments today. It came about 15 minutes after I ate 2 hard-boiled eggs that came from a vending machine. I mean, who does that ? Don't get me wrong they tasted just great but the fact that they came from a vending machine saddened me.

In other news.....the Tigers signed Sean Casey to a one year deal worth 4 million dollars. Glad to have you back Mayor. The Pistons are not off to their greatest start but I would have to think they will get on track here soon. I miss Ben Wallace. I haven't watched a red wings game yet this year but I heard they won 9 in a row on the radio this morning...go wings.

I think that about does it for now. Nothing too exciting to report really, except on where I got my eggs from. So sad. Happy Weekend everyone.

Nothing New

If I had anything to tell you beyond the realm of "normal" I would. However, I don't. Maybe I'll screw up my routine tomorrow just to be different. Today was the most uneventful day at work. That was kind of a good thing. Wouldn't want to think too hard on a Monday, right ?

In other news, I'm considering retiring from the Turkey Trot. I think I've done it for 6 or so years now and it keeps getting harder and harder to get up to run 6 miles in the cold on Thanksgiving morning. Sleeping next to the fireplace sounds sooo much better. I have not made my final decision on this matter but I need to make a decision soon.

I got to watch some Piston games while I was home over the weekend and they won both games that I watched. It's different without Ben but we seem to be getting the job done. Too early to tell I suppose.

I think that's all for now. I hope everyone has an enjoyable week.

Day After Day

In the center of the world of routines you will find me. Day after day I do a lot of the same things. Get up at the same time, shower for the same amount of time, get dressed in the same amount of time, go back to bed for the same amount of time (except fridays), check blogs for the same amount of time, make my lunch the same, and head out the door at the same time. I listen to the same radio station on the way to work, park in the same place, and on and on and on. If you're wondering about the weekends.....well those are very different from one to the next depending on where I am and who I see.

But is it bad that there is such similarity everyday? Does everyone do this? I feel like I have habits of an 80 year old. I am happy to say homework is not part of my routine anymore. I enjoy the fact that everyday at 5 pm I can relax and enjoy my night. I'd like to say I could add the Pistons into my routine now but since I live in Ohio I only get the Cavs games......I don't enjoy this, not one bit.

So here I sit in my routine......I will awake to my alarm at 6:14 roll out of bed at 6:30 (4 snooze buttons later)...shower from 6:30-6:41....get dressed until 6:45....go back to bed until 7:14......brush my teeth and gel hair til 7:20.....check blogs til 7:30....breakfast and lunch making until 7:44 and then out the door..........welcome to the mornings of my life.
