THE TIGER'S WON THE PENNANT

What a game, what a series, what a way to end it. So many guys to thank for doing the little things. Polanco for getting on base all the time, Bonderman for grinding out a solid performance, Ledezma for coming in with the bases loaded and getting a HUGE 3rd out in the 8th, Inge for hustling on a dribbler which in the end allowed him to get to second, Maggs for well....putting the team on his shoulders and smacking 2 home runs to first tie it in the 6th and then win it in the bottom of the ninth with 2 outs. What a ball game. Now we have an entire week off. An entire week to rest Zumaya and Casey, an entire week to rest our starting pitchers' arms, an entire week to recharge our bullpen, an entire week to rest and let those bumps and bruises the guys have accumulated over the last 170 games heal up. All we do now is wait and wonder who will challenge us for the championship...New York or St. Louis ? We can either have a repeat of the '68 series and play St. Louis or we could try and have the entire state of New York hate us by beating both the Yankees and the Mets.....either one works for me. Go Tigers !

Either one works for me too. I'm starving for some good coverage of the Tiger victory, here in Florida, there's not much and you'd think with Lakeland being so nearby there would be more hype. Maybe I've not been in front of the TV at the right time. Thanks for your run down of the game, that's most color I've heard in two days.
